Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Perioperative Services
LynnMarie Verzino, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, is the MedStar Health Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Perioperative Services. In this role, Verzino works closely and collaboratively with key anesthesia and service line leaders to coordinate, support, and provide leadership to all MedStar Health perioperative services. Her responsibilities include system-wide strategic planning and operational efficiencies focused on quality outcomes, positive patient experience, workforce engagement and resource utilization
Prior to joining MedStar Health, Verzino served as Vice President, Perioperative Enterprise at Emory Healthcare, where she directed all aspects of strategic planning and clinical integration for the 124 operating rooms of the academic medical and Magnet-designated delivery system. Her scope included seven hospitals and nine ambulatory surgery centers, as well as all aspects of PeriAnesthesia services, Endoscopy, and ancillary support services within the Perioperative value stream.
Verzino has held senior positions in perioperative leadership for more than 30 years, including System Vice President, Perioperative Services for MemorialCare Health in California, and similar positions at health systems in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Verzino earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).
